Is there human study data available to support what is claimed?
Yes, studies of the benefits of clinoptilolite have been conducted and are ongoing. In fact, an NDI (New Dietary Ingredient) notification #824 was submitted to the FDA on February 12, 2014 and the FDA had “no objection” for us to market the Purified Clinoptilolite in the US.
Can you provide scientific publications about Clinoptilolite, such as that found in G-PUR?
Yes, there are compiled scientific publications about the benefits of Clinoptilolite. After years of vigorous research, there are now over 400 scientific papers that have been published in PUBMED (US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health). The numerous research papers over many years demonstrate that Clinoptilolite is safe and non-toxic. You can also download our whitepaper available at https://g-pur.com/why-g-pur/.
Other products claim to have also been classified as GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by the FDA – is that correct?
Not all products sold on the market may have been subjected to FDA review. G-PUR’s Purified Clinoptilolite has been reviewed by the Food and Drug Administration, through the filing of a New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) notification and has been acknowledged by the FDA with a letter of no objection. Very few of the products in the dietary supplement market have been submitted to the FDA for review.
Why should I take G-PUR only once a day?
At this time, it is recommended that 2 grams of G-PUR be taken once a day and should be taken daily for a maximum of 28 days. In fact, Clinoptilolite has an adsorptive surface area of the size of several hundred square feet per gram. G-PUR will stay inside the digestive tract to adsorb the toxins until the routine next day bowel movement.
Are there any side effects?
At this time, there are no reported side effects of G-PUR if taken at the recommended dose of 2g a day. However, due to insufficient studies, if you are pregnant, nursing, have known allergic reactions to Clinoptilolite, have a limited kidney function or chronic gastrointestinal disease, have a pre-existing medical condition and/or are taking other medications, you must consult a doctor first before taking G-PUR.
Can I take G-PUR together with my medication?
We recommend taking any medication at least one hour before taking G-PUR. As with any dietary supplement, if you are taking medications, it will be best for you to consult your doctor first before taking G-PUR.
Can I take G-PUR together with other dietary supplements?
We recommend taking any other supplement at least one hour before taking G-PUR. As with any dietary supplement, it will be best for you to consult your doctor first before taking G-PUR together with other supplements.
Can I use something different than water?
It is recommended that G-PUR be mixed with water. This is to make sure that the ion exchange capacity of G-PUR remains the same as it enters the gastrointestinal tract.
Why doesn’t G-PUR dissolve in water?
G-PUR is a natural mineral powder that is insoluble in water. Because it is micronized, it easily suspends in water resulting into a homogeneous suspension that comes without any gritty mouth feel. We recommend drinking G-PUR in water as soon as mixed.
Is G-PUR also offered as capsules?
Not at the moment but capsules are being considered as another dosage form in the future.
How does G-PUR work?
G-PUR acts as an ion exchanger and a selective adsorbent in the gastrointestinal tract that binds toxic heavy metals, which are strong cations in exchange to the weak cations such as Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium and Calcium attached to the Clinoptilolite lattice. G-PUR also binds several toxins (e.g. toxins from mold called mycotoxins) to prevent them from getting absorbed by the body.*
What is the difference between Zeolite, Clinoptilolite and G-PUR?
G-PUR is purified Clinoptilolite; Clinoptilolite is a part of the Zeolite family. Zeolites can be of natural or synthetic origin, and there are more than 40 natural Zeolites. Clinoptilolite is one of them.
Aren’t Zeolites toxic?
If not processed adequately to eliminate impurities, natural Clinoptilolite can pose harm when ingested. That is why G-PUR’s Clinoptilolite is purified using a patented process to eliminate impurities and be safe to ingest. The source of Clinoptilolite tuff material is consistency tested and proven not to contain harmful cancer-causing crystals of Erionite (which is a fibrous natural Zeolite).
Does G-PUR contain Aluminum? Isn’t this dangerous?
Aluminum in the Aluminosilicate compound of natural Clinoptilolite has strong affinity to the compound, as it is bound in the crystal lattice, and will not dissociate. Many studies have shown that orally ingested Clinoptilolite is being excreted with no significant change in structure as well as the chemical composition of Clinoptilolite.
What is different compared to similar/liquid Zeolite products?
Tests and investigation have shown that sometimes the Clinoptilolite content of Liquid Zeolite products is way less than their labels claim. G-PUR is in the form of purified Clinoptilolite powder. Each serving is 2 grams of purified Clinoptilolite to be mixed in a glass of water. It seems an easy calculation the Clinoptilolite content in a couple of drops must be much less and therefore efficacy might be less as well.
Is there a safety concern when taking Clinoptilolite products other than G-PUR?
G-PUR is the only patented, purified Clinoptilolite. G-PUR has been reviewed by the Food and Drug Administration for its safe use and has no objection to market it in the United States. Without this purification process the impurities in unpurified Clinoptilolite products might become available and cause unwanted effects.
Why is it necessary to have Clinoptilolite purified?
When natural Clinoptilolite is mined, it contains numerous impurities with levels that might greatly vary depending of the origin of Clinoptilolite. Our high-quality sources ensures a very low level of these impurities, and our patented purification process removes these impurities making it safe for human consumption. Without this purification process the impurities might become available if Clinoptilolite is ingested, causing unwanted effects.
Does this process alter the beneficial characteristics of G-PUR?
No, it does not. In fact, it enhances its ion exchange capacity that makes it more effective in adsorbing various toxins.*
Why is G-PUR so fine?
To ensure that G-PUR easily mixes with water for better suspension, G-PUR is finely ground or micronized.
What is the particle size of G-PUR?
The mean particle size of G-PUR is 3.1 + 0.5 micron. This ensures an easy suspension in water and avoids a gritty feeling in the mouth (occurring with particles > 10 µm). Furthermore, it is quite obvious that the finer the particle size the bigger the (active) surface.
Does G-PUR enter into the bloodstream?
No, G-PUR does not enter the blood stream because of its particle size. G-PUR passes through the gastrointestinal tract and is completely excreted via the feces.
Is G-PUR absorbed in the body?
No, G-PUR is not absorbed by the body but temporarily stays in the digestive tract to attract toxins and excreted with no significant change in the Clinoptilolite structure or chemical composition.*
Can G-PUR safely be taken by pregnant or nursing woman?
As with any other dietary supplement, if you are pregnant or nursing, one should consult a doctor before taking G-PUR.
Can children take G-PUR?
Not recommended for children – Keep out of Reach
What happens if I take too much G-PUR?
Consult with a physician as soon as possible. Some experience constipation if G-PUR is taken more than the recommended dose. When taking G-PUR it is advisable to drink plenty of water, i.e. at least 8 glasses a day.
How should I store G-PUR?
Store G-PUR at room temperature and keep away from direct sunlight.
